The GOP has spent years branding itself the patriotic party backing the military & police. But, as @mehdirhasan notes, the party’s reaction to Gen. Milley’s comments and its continued obstruction of the Jan. 6 commission has revealed how conditional that loyalty really is.

It's hard to imagine any behavior less patriotic than that of the Republican Party since Nov 3, 2020. Actively promoting foreign interference, creating anti-democratic laws at state level, objecting to needed legislation SIMPLY because their party isn't in majority: arrest them!

Also the unwillingness to here what police officers went through that day. It amazes me that any union representing police, fire, ambulance, could ever support those who believe that the officers death was caused by friendly folk just wanting to say “hi”. The GOP R fascist party.
