No. Just no. There is only ONE strain: SARS.COV.2. Variants are not the same as new strains. Please have @profvrr or another virologist on your show re variants. Peter is not a virologist and his predications are usually wrong. Go back through his Twitter thread…

These variants should be seen as what they are: part of the same strain, SARS-COV-2. And they are covered by vaxx and natural immunity. No need to fear. Just get vaxxed. This unscientific fear mongering needs to stop.

I’m a bit worried that suggesting that this is a different virus may imply it needs different types of precautions when in reality it needs the same precautions but more aggressively instituted.
