How can prominent Republican politicians deny the existence of systemic racism? @MehdiRHasan asks if it’s ignorance, dishonesty or maybe pandering to a reactionary white base? @ProfTriciaRose says all of the above: “It’s very much about intentional & performed ignorance.”

What is definitely systemic racism is a political party that supported and fought for slavery, Jim Crow laws, started the KKK and put Japanese Americans into internment camps. How can any person support the Democrat party's continued existence?

This seems to be Mehdi's blind spot. He does not seem to approach this topic rationally. This is a legitimate debate. SO many assertions, but so little sound arguments, seems to me. Is the question whether systemic racism HAS existed in this country or SILL exists, or "echoes"?
There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or of a non-Arab over an Arab, and no superiority of a white person over a black person or of a black person over a white person, except on the basis of personal piety and righteousness. #BlackLivesMatter

Self defeating argument. People in the government, the system, who say there is no systemic racism, must therefore be claiming that the statistic differences between races are a result of genetics. Which is in itself a prime and shocking example of systemic racism at work.

Mehdi, Ask the British Government about the conclusions of the recent report on racism in the UK. Apparently the UK does not have systemic racism either. What a coincidence.
