With troops set to leave Afghanistan by 9/11/21, has the U.S. won the conflict? Adm. William McCraven tells @MehdiRHasan the sacrifice of those who have served there “will not be diminished one bit, their patriotism will not be diminished one bit by how this war ends up.”

It's about God damned time! But I'm wary of that 9/11 withdrawal date. Some fuckery could go on before then. Some new lying "revelation" that necessitates our troops to stay. Keep your eyes peeled for bullshit.
Politicians and war planners may have lost was BUT not the troops, who implement the plans of their leaders.
What happened to south Vietnam after the us withdrawal? History may repeat itself. It will on biden's head.
There was never any question about the patriotism of those who served in Afghanistan, as opposed to the patriotism of the architects of the War in Iraq, who wielded their devotion to duty as a weapon to deflect any and all domestic criticism of their big lies and plot to war..
Not quite the answer Mehdi expected to hear.
Sacrificed their lives for what? Opium profits? We lossed and many people lost their lives in the process (both our soldiers and innocent Afghanis. Time to move on and learn from our mistakes
I opposed the invasion. And since I failed to stop it I’ve ignored it for 20 years. No more mind games. A deal was made. Do it. Get the F out of where we never should have gone in the first place.
