People are appropriately concerned about the acute possibility of emboldening the vaccine resistant community. But imagine their reaction if @US_FDA sat on the data and even one more person was harmed? This was a no win, but transparency and caution was the better play.

People question the safety of a brand new vaccine with no long-term trials? Must be the Russians!
Not surprised one bit. Why would you believe that some vaccine would benefit you in the first place? This is just a very bad flu. Everything has its time and when this runs its course it'll be life back to normal again.
The Astra Zeneca vaccine, with similar miniscule risks, has been put on-hold in Denmark (and other parts of the EU) for the past month. Huge lack of confidence now due to uneven communication and caution. My son got his first AZ shot in March - now on hold for the 2nd. #limbo
We should amplify ourselves over them and maybe our narratives will prevail.
