Last March, Dr Fauci said there was no reason to wear a face covering. Now he’s known for asking people to mask up. Fauci rejects criticism of his past advice, telling @MehdiRHasan, “if something changes…and you change with the data and rely on the data you’re not flip flopping”

the good thing about science is that it changes w/the facts (no matter what you believe). you should try it.
So when man first thought the world was flat, did we continue to believe that after we found it wasn't, only through exploration and more research did we come to the fact it was round, is that flip-flopping? Well maybe for folks who are narrow-minded, uneducated or Trump sheep!
This is another point that QAnon & conspiracy theorists always fixate on. The recommendations change & get more developed as more information is gained. They somehow can't get around initial reporting somehow being the final word and any subsequent reporting is lying.

Great rebuttal by Dr. Fauci. I don’t think @mehdirhasan anticipated such reply. Both guys are great at what they do though.

That’s what science does - acquire new data, assimilate them, and draw new conclusions.

When simply data dictates opinion, anyone can draw a line somewhere. The truth is we do not know how mask works. This is broadly a mistake everywhere. We do not know exact physical/scientific processes how things work and then we depend on data and create confusion.
