I think Crenshaw thinks these policies are for people who now don't need to leave their countries to ask for asylum. Therefore the ones sent back are not so important.

I join the other people who heard that Crenshaw was saying no one would’ve been sent back because the point of the program was to not have them come in the first place. Say what you want about the policy, Mr Hassan’s question was not the right one to ask.
