Why didn't impeachment managers call witnesses? Because Mitch McConnell had already said he would vote to acquit Trump. "That was deflating for us. We saw him as a linchpin vote," @RepSwalwell tells @mehdirhasan. "We thought it would be futile to chase uncooperative witnesses."

Did Sen. Chris Coons *really* say he wanted the impeachment trial over in time for Valentine’s Day? “I don’t want to go into what senators said or did not say,” says Rep. Eric Swalwell. As for Trump, “He’s gonna age like milk, he’s not gonna age like fine wine.”

Why are still in Congress? This Chinese spy garbage is going to come back and haunt you
Managers doctored evidence & omitted key part of speech. The drafted article of impeachment was rushed and not aligned with case presented. Now Pelosi wants an INDEPENDENT Review. Shouldn’t investigation occurred first. Which is it Calvary or Cavalry? Unity my A$$. Do better
and we wanted to get home for Valentine's day. A couple of us had some hot dates lined up.

And then there's this. Why can't you just tell people you were pressured? This is our life, not a club for you guys to protect each other.
Me on the @MehdiHasanShow tonight: "Did Senator Chris Coons tell House managers, including yourself, that senators needed to be home for Valentine's Day?" House manager Eric Swalwell: "I don’t want to go into what senators said or did not say..."
Does anybody think it's odd that a congressman with Chinese spy issues would be on both the committee that oversees the FBI (Judiciary committee) and the entire intelligence community (Intelligence committee)? swalwell.house.gov/about/com…
Even worse than expected. Complete lack of judgement added to cowardice. What a disappointment for all the people, who worked to put Democrats in power. Opportunity missed, momentum lost.
It was disappointing but not the end of the world.
