Remember $2,000 checks? Well… Dems are working on $1,400 checks, so you’ll get to $2K when they’re combined with the earlier $600 stimulus. It’s not *quite* a bait and switch, says economist @StephanieKelton, but “my sense is that an awful lot of people are responding” badly.

This is a perfect example of how stupid people are. 600 + 1400 = 2000.

Horseshit! "Only the politically savvy understood that 2k meant 1400.00." ?? You're all fking ridiculous !

Funny how people respond badly to lies sometimes.

Are you kidding me? Can't you guys do arithmetic? They wanted $2000 but $600 was approved. Close to a Bait and Switch? Sheesh, how stupid.

i feel like progressives(i am one) are just desperate to get mad at Biden for some reason so this is the only one they have since the stimulus bill he proposed is so sweeping and impressive.

Stephanie accurately laid out the situation. YES, the inner politics of the situation always pointed to a 1400 bump up from 600 to get the 2000, so Biden & Dems didn't lie... but that point is much less important than voters reasonably thinking this meant an actual 2K check!

We need a National Ubi payment at least $1,000 a month. They should start negotiations at 2,000 a month. People need to catch up on their rent so they are not evicted! And people are affected they cannot rent an apartment!!! That stays on their record for at least 10 years!!@
