Remember $2,000 checks? Well… Dems are working on $1,400 checks, so you’ll get to $2K when they’re combined with the earlier $600 stimulus. It’s not *quite* a bait and switch, says economist @StephanieKelton, but “my sense is that an awful lot of people are responding” badly.

Plug the three amounts into the online eligibility calculators. The net amount for folks that are above the eligibility threshold receive about 55% less. 🤷‍♂️ so IRS math $600 + $1,400 < $2,000. What is middle class income level?
Yes, not only do I fully agree with this, but, by the time another check can come out, it will be a month since that $600 from the end of December. So, really, it makes no sense to think that the next one should be just $1,400. Just send out $2,000, dammit!
I agree it was poor messaging but the goal was always 2000. 600 + 1400 is 2000 so they are doing what they said in my view. They always said 600 was not enough and 2000 was needed. For almost 12 months the total stimulus is still shameful.
It’s ABSOLUTELY a bait and switch 🤦🏽‍♂️ here’s the tape of him telling Georgians $2,000 NOT $600 + $1400 will get you to $2k
He said $2,000 #stimuluscheck when he was campaigning in Georgia 🤦🏽‍♂️ you can’t ‘hEAl tHe sOUl oF tHe nAtIon” being a lying piece of shit.

Wasn't this exactly the AOC/Tlaib amendment? To add $1400 for an even $2000? Why move goalposts all of a sudden?

It's straight-up Shuck-and-Jive. @JoeBiden isn't even in office yet and he's already screwing us. A new speed record!

Why not $1400 for yesteryear and $2000 for this one?

If dems aren't fucking up an uncontested layup, they wouldn't be dems.

Seems like a bone to keep GOP happy. They need to go big while they still can in the first two years while majority is guaranteed. Why don’t the Dems ever learn this lesson?
