If a vaccine generally takes years to be developed( studying the long-term side affects), how should we trust a vaccine that has been developed only in 8 months?

RNA vaccines have been rolled out for a test once with ebola as far as I know. Why was there hesitancy to roll out broadly for ebola and there is none of that hesitance now with COVID 29?

I believe vaccine volunteers are pro-mask. I wonder if the efficacy of vaccines has any relationship with mask wearing and do we know if weather plays any dynamics on the efficacy? I wonder if vaccine efficacy is isolated from mask & weather effect.
