In 2016, "We were told that we need to reach out to understand" Trump voters, says @WajahatAli. "I have not heard... anybody say, 'Hey Trump voters, reach out to 80 million of your fellow Americans and please understand *their* frustrations and why they voted for Joe Biden.'"

"It's bad-faith actors who always demand civility but give cruelty," @WajahatAli says of conservative critics trying to cancel him. "I want them to have health care. I want them to have jobs... They need me to suffer to feel great again. And that's the difference."

Agreed. I am so tired of hearing about reaching out to tRumpists. Why? I am a POC. I already know what they think and how they feel. They have screamed in it in my face on a few occasions.

We needed to understand the 2016 Trump voter to understand why Clinton lost. The lesson was learned.

Let's make their votes count for one not 4 by getting rid of the electoral college.

Too many people read “Hillbilly Elegy” uncritically. What a bunch of bs. Between that, David Brooks and @nytimes in general, all we’ve heard is a fantasy about the Trump voter. I don’t believe in book burning, but Hillbilly is one I wouldn’t mind taking to the dump.

Like @KeithOlbermann said, to them, "Freedom means never having to do anything you don't want to do."

Because the media damn well knows if they get a bunch of trump supporters in a room together and ask them why they don't reach out to Biden voters the answers would be insane, insulting and totally dismissive of reality.
