Oligarchs, and their fanboys and fangirls in Congress, have been pushing the evils of government, and the wonders of an unregulated free market, for years. Some things, especially when controlled by a handful of people cannot simply have a market correction.
What is a “trusted gatekeeper”? You?
The purpose of gatekeeping is not to stop misinformation, but to stop unapproved information. The antidote to misinformation is correct information defended in the marketplace of ideas. The Inquisition that punished Galileo was set up to gate-keep misinformation.

If we´re talking about gatekeepers in sense of qualified trustworthy professional researchers, who'd publish facts about controversial "clickable" potential misinformation, then y, sure. If we're talking about arbitrary censorship done by political tools, then fuck "gatekeepers".
Still waiting for twitter to censor NYT for their lies Bolivia, most foreign countries, especially those ones used to manufacture consent to kill brown people. Mehdi directly contributes to dead brown people.
