Would economist @paulkrugman back Elizabeth Warren as Biden's treasury secretary? "It would certainly be important and symbolic," he says, "and I'm a huge admirer." But there are lots of good candidates in the mix, he adds: "I'm not worried about that particular appointment."

"Calling yourself a socialist when you actually aren't... that's a little bit of self-indulgence," says @paulkrugman. However, he adds, "I think it should be okay to say 'I'm for Medicare for All,'" and moderate Democrats "are laying too much blame" on the party's progressives.

Thank you @mehdirhasan. I wonder why #democrats in #Florida did not run on $15.00 living wage campaigns? #UBI ‘less I missed their ads with #Trumps misinformation campaigns. Also #dems in South Florida need to address the #Cuban & #Venezuelan voters.
Laying blame, when we should be flying on momentum from the #BidenHarris win, is stupidity incarnate. Really really stupid.

I am an Irish citizen and an Australian resident, both countries have universal healthcare, neither are socialist. Do not understand this argument.

Paul Krugman condemning self-indulgence is par for the course.

"Self-indulgent?" Pot meet kettle.

Democratic Socialists are socialists who work for socialism via reforms like universal healthcare, etc eventually getting full democratization of the work force. So it's entirely possible for a DemSoc to push SocDem policies as a stepping stone.
