SCOTUS is “not a conservative court, what it is is a captured court" @SenWhitehouse tells @mehdirhasan. "Very often…they actually break conservative judicial principles to get to the outcome that they want, which aligns perfectly w/ the interests of big Republican donor groups.”

If the GOP hadn’t run so many Trumpy candidates, Democrats would've had fewer wins in the midterms, @SenWhitehouse says. He tells @mehdirhasan, “We need to examine what the baseline would look like for our party had the Republicans chosen less defective candidates.”
