And another new Vinyl! It's always funny when you order similar items on totally different days, but they arrive at (nearly) the same time XD I love the tracklist in form of the Triforce at the back! Vinyl by @RozenDJ and @MateriaColl

are the vinyls made with old style mixing or are they just bigger versions of what you'd find on a cd? i'd like to start getting some of these, but before that, i need a vinyl player...

Don't know what you mean with that? They're Vinyls. I think it's made out of a different material as the old ones by now. Or is it about the tracklist? That's usually the same but it differs from Vinyl to Vinyl.

no i mean the mixing, as in how the music is mixed in production before printing it on the target media support(cd, vynil, or even mp3), i heard new vynil records sometimes sound just like a cd would even if vynils are remembered for having a softer, warmer sound, in ignorance i

would think that comes simply from the material, but i've seen people say it's also related to how the music is mixed... basically, i'm just asking: does it sound like what you'd think a vinyl would sound like compared to a cd/other digital formats?

I have no idea. Honestly. Especially since I buy them from several sources. I think it sounds more deep, but that could just be my imagination or the speakers. I'm not audiophile enough to judge that ^^

i see, my main goal buing vynils would be for the sound so yeah. "deeper" would be a definition of warmer sound though, although it's a bit... undefined. btw, what do you mean by "several sources"? i though these vynils were(mostly) official?

They are, but they're manufactured and mixed by different companies. You better ask them directly for any details. For example: @iam8bit @theyetee @MateriaColl Or direct your questions to @blipblopwax who have way more in depth knowledge about videogame vinyls in general.

It varies from release to release. Most VGM vinyl companies know that they have to master a piece of music specifically for vinyl to make it sound the best it can, though. The material is more or less the same, although there might've been small adjustments made over time.

Every label, plant and mastering house are not created equal. We really want to educate folks - because it鈥檚 really easy to do vinyl wrong. The fact that you鈥檙e asking these questions is fantastic

Yes! The masters for vinyl are unique for the product. We know iambit and other high-end vgm vinyl folks use proper mastering studios to get the sound just right for wax. We love working with Sony/@bakerymastering for lacquers, and there's many others out there
