To be honest I haven't heard it myself, so I don't know for sure what they're like—just that they're simpler than the original ones. @MateriaColl might know more!

They're fairly easy and accessible arrangements! They're supposed to be approachable for early pianists.

yes but the other sets have people saying they don't sound as close to the original as they should, are those ones better?

Unsure about better -- the Piano Collections are more creative and virtuous arrangements. The intent of the Complete Piano Score arrangements are to be close to the original!
