@KimLanders This is the most effective way to control the spread of Covid-19. Closing the borders need not stop trade. Anyone who must come in, isolates 14 days. Within Australia anyone who gets the virus (and their contacts) isolates 14 days. Sport & public events could go on.

Melissa, it’s a difficult decision. Some models will be worst case and may have been based on assumptions that don’t fit Australia.
Agree. It would be good to know the variables included- such as R0; serial interval; proportion of severe/critical; the level of impact of border protection; banning public meetings; temperature and relative humidity etc.
To our knowledge mail/parcel are not important risk factors for transmission. But if worried - handwash after handling mail.
