A Rapid Antigen Test does not protect you & reduce wider risk of spread. Vaccines do. Boosters do. Indoor masks do. Socially distancing does. Avoiding large indoor gatherings do. If you have symptoms, get a PCR test & isolate.

As we all will get COVID/ omnicron a test kit gives no additional protection. It might change your behavior and maybe due to changed behavior delay the moment you get omnicron, but you will get covid anyhow. In fact buying a test kit for health reasons is a waste of money

Mary-Louise, sadly, seems testing & taking precautions is foriegn 2 those who espouse the new 3 word slogan of ... "LET IT RIP". Goes with other new 3 word slogans of ..."TECHNOLOGY NOT TAXES" & ... "SUBS NOT #VETERANS", the latter pertaining to $$ required 2 fix Veteran compo

Big fan and thank you for your calmness and insights throughout. is it a mark of wealth and privilege for someone feeling unwell to have the decency to isolate regardless of underlying cause..?

I think a good rule of thumb would be that if you show symptoms just to isolate for 7 days. (Easier said than done I know...especially if you are self employed or have kids!)

Thanks Professor. I have been lucky to get my 3rd dose prior to Christmas but worry for my 3 teenage kids who are only double vaxed. Do u think boosters will be available to this age group? Are they safe against omicron without it compared to adults? Thankyou

As the name says a RAT is a test and only good for providing a negative result as they can also provide a false positive which means a proper test. Vaccinations do not stop you from getting the virus but can reduce the severity of the virus. Somask, vaccine, hand wash and 1.5M
