I calculate just 30-35% of Australians have symptomatic protection from Omicron based on UK study & Australian data. Boosters 3 months after 2nd dose & free rapid antigen tests are essential. Everybody can reduce spread with masks & avoiding indoor crowds. assets.publishing.service.go…

Thanks Mary-Louise. Always the voice of reason when politics overtakes health and well-being.

And still early days for Omicron in NSW and Australia and LNP are disregarding case numbers and non hospitalisation illness for some reason
80% of cases in London with specimens from 14 December were Omicron. (On 1 December these made up only 2% of cases)

It’s been 2 years, when does it end? Vaccine shot every month and never go to an indoor event again? How about just go out if your feeling well and get tested and stay home if you’re not, I feel like that advice might work, no more restrictions on life

Data to guide the timing of a booster should be showing up in the NSW cases too. Analysis of cases in vaccinated people should show fewer cases near the 2nd dose, with numbers gradually (or sharply?) rising as the interval since the 2nd dose increases. @NSWHealth @VictorianCHO

I'd like to know who is advising the gov, what they are advising and the reason for the gov's actions regarding covid. Because it seems to me that just about everyone involved in disease control around the world is shouting the same thing. Their actions can't be science-based.

Qld CHO just said covid needs 2 spread 2 move 2 endemic, focusing on limiting speed of spread via masks & boosters. What do you think of that?

On RAT… 25% false positive (as in our household last week) and a not-insignificant % of false negatives. I’m triple vaxxed but will wear mask in indoor retailers, avoid hospitality venues and generally amuse myself at home so as to protect my unvaccinated grandchildren
