I calculate just 30-35% of Australians have symptomatic protection from Omicron based on UK study & Australian data. Boosters 3 months after 2nd dose & free rapid antigen tests are essential. Everybody can reduce spread with masks & avoiding indoor crowds. assets.publishing.service.go…

Based on data above from omicron (no diff in infection risk vax vs unvax) & from delta in @TheLancetInfDis (no significant difference in transm once infected between vax & unvax), it seems: No, the vax can not be relied on to protect others (2/5)

Opening was "vaccination + TTIQ" Not "individual responsibility" @Dom_Perrottet- individuals turned away from test stations, locals in my suburb taking to FB to say they can't exit their driveways! Free provision of Rapid tests to households, as per UK, would be a useful start.

The only people not testing positive to Omicron are those who have previously had Covid. Therefore get Omicron and boost your immunity - the drip fed vax are not needed.

So true, i would love to have a rapid antigen test before seeing extended family at Xmas, but they are out of supply everywhere near me, plus at $50 for the 4 needed for my immediate family, i can't be buying them regularly.
