Kid vaccines prevent illness, spread & prevents rare complications - brain inflammation due to mumps 1 in 200 & 1 in 1000 due to measles; 1 death/year from rotavirus. Approx 20,000 kids 0-9 & 22,000 10-19yr had Delta in Vic & NSW. That's enough reason to COVID vacc 5-11 yr.

Mary-Louise, I agree. Politicization is taking over science. We vaccinate for extremely rare deaths in measles, chickenpox, rotavirus. We vaccinate to protect against disease, protect others by having a higher level of immunity and fewer case numbers in population. No different.

There's more to it than that, though. Hard to equivocate one vaccine+illness to another

Mary, mumps and measles vaccine were and are unconditionally approved by TGA. Covid vaccine are not approved by TGA they are trial vaccines and we are being forced to take part in this trial. That’s why we are asked 3 & 8 days later for any side effects. I am double faxed.

No child needs covid vaccine! Long term affects are not known, and children don't die from covid.

It sickens me that kids’ vaccinations weren’t factored into Australia’s opening up to “living with Covid” plan.
