1/3 National Cabinet targets of 70% & 80% (16 years +) vaccination thresholds equate to 56% and 64% of total population vaccinated. Australia must do better than these vaccination rates because.....

2/3 I calculated we need 68%min & preferably 80% of total pop to be vaccinated. Grattan Institute recommends "fully vaccinating 80% of all Australians, & 95% of the over-70s", to "give us the best chance of gradually returning to normal life – with open borders & no lockdowns".

3/3 NZ is targeting 78% of total population and Singapore is targeting 75% of total population. National Cabinet modelling must to be published for public review & for Australians to understand why Government targets are so low compared to estimated local and overseas targets.

We really need about 80% of total population vaxed. The vaccine lowers the effects of the virus but if virus left to circulate among young population it will be left to mutate and affect them more in end.

Morrison govt targets are depressingly low in many spheres. It's a sign of mediocrity. Or incompetence. Dk which. Maybe they're the same thing - mediocrity, incompetence. Incompetence, mediocrity.

Why isn't the Doherty Institute clarifying their modelling to the public? Politicians are using it for spin.

It is because they want to under promise and over deliver. They now the critical 10pc from 70 to 80pc is the hardest to achieve and have no confidence that "their team" can achieve it. In their eyes close enough is good enough. #auspol

NSW will be decimated with the virus before we reach required vaccination levels.

Netherlands had 74% by my dodgy calcs before opening up, and closing down again a week or so later after a 500% increase in cases. Even 74% isn't enough.

With the Netherlands in mind, do you think the UK apparent fall in new case numbers after opening up on a peak, may be due to people relaxing and not getting tested, or a change in the way data is collected?
