1/3 National Cabinet targets of 70% & 80% (16 years +) vaccination thresholds equate to 56% and 64% of total population vaccinated. Australia must do better than these vaccination rates because.....

2/3 I calculated we need 68%min & preferably 80% of total pop to be vaccinated. Grattan Institute recommends "fully vaccinating 80% of all Australians, & 95% of the over-70s", to "give us the best chance of gradually returning to normal life – with open borders & no lockdowns".

3/3 NZ is targeting 78% of total population and Singapore is targeting 75% of total population. National Cabinet modelling must to be published for public review & for Australians to understand why Government targets are so low compared to estimated local and overseas targets.

Thanks so much for this. I would say the chances of the government releasing anything to do with the pandemic is next to zero. But I see the Doherty Institute is speaking freely.

I have always appreciated your insights and fair assessment of outbreaks Mary-Louise. Sydney's bigger informal economy than Melbourne is going to be a challenge.

Keep your voice out there Mary-Louise. We Aussie trust your expertise over LNP employed CMOs who don't have a clue & are obviously swayed by their LNP masters 😡 #Covid19 taught us we must chose wealth for some or health for all - judgment day has come 🤔

And I dare say we need to know the scenarios put foreword by the Aust Gov. So, for example, illness and death rates. Strain on the medical system. Costs of social dislocation and mental illness. Whether inter generational impacts were discussed and factored in. #transparency

Agreed. I suspect that the government and cabinet are setting a target that they can afford and reach without embarrassment rather than a target supported by evidence. It has even been so with this government.

It’s NOT a race in New Zealand Messaging there has always been very clear about their vaccination programme, roll out & goal. Fully aware the global pandemic is worsening, not over & #ZeroCovid wins. Science, honesty, strength & compassion. NZ also doesn’t do BS ‘stranded Kiwis’

Prof McLaws, Can I ask what you have assumed the "eff vs trans" is for AZ and Pfizer after 2 doses for Delta? Have seen numbers all over the place. Based on their HI numbers, Grattan seems to be assuming around 95% for example. Doherty statement

I will explain why Marylouise. It's because we have a Birdbrain in charge of our Aviary. You know we once called it our Parliament House. Not anymore!

Morrison is focused on an election, not on public health.

thanks for all your information Mary Louise, I have just had my 2nd AZ jab ‘re-booked’ because the hospital I was booked at (in the far south coast) no longer has a clinic…..wondering whether all those vaccinations have been ‘acquired’ by NSW Govt for those poor souls in Sydney
