1/3 National Cabinet targets of 70% & 80% (16 years +) vaccination thresholds equate to 56% and 64% of total population vaccinated. Australia must do better than these vaccination rates because.....

2/3 I calculated we need 68%min & preferably 80% of total pop to be vaccinated. Grattan Institute recommends "fully vaccinating 80% of all Australians, & 95% of the over-70s", to "give us the best chance of gradually returning to normal life – with open borders & no lockdowns".

3/3 NZ is targeting 78% of total population and Singapore is targeting 75% of total population. National Cabinet modelling must to be published for public review & for Australians to understand why Government targets are so low compared to estimated local and overseas targets.

Are they so low because NSWs wants them to be this low?

Only those vulnerable to covid could benefit from these vaccines. That is a small fraction of society. Everyone else can develop natural immunity which is more robust and lasting. UK has high vaxx rate and 6x more deaths than same time last year. That's not just fail, it's ADE.

I concur. Should be at least 80% total of population before any restrictions lifted, imho. Would love to see the actual modelling with all factors before political hands got in the loop. I tweeted this back in February.
Talk to unbiased scientists instead of company sales-folk. Seriously. Also, heard immunity can vary. 50% of people that interact with others daily is ONLY the start of heard immunity. 60-75% is very good. 80-95% is solid. But, time is a big factor for role-out, effectiveness &...

Why are we only focusing on the adult population? We can currently vaccinate all Australians 12+ and therefore it would make much more sense to include them in our targets. The current outbreak demonstrates that we need to include children.

There is no doubt Pfitzer has much better efficacy than AZ and if the priority had been to avoid catching the virus Pfitzer wins hands down and though it costs more to produce should have been the choice for a wealthy country like Australia. You get what you pay for .

Not working and never will and you know it!

These targets are steps along the way not the end goal. To say we need 95% of all adults vaccinated before we relax anything is ridiculous.
