Employers should be daily screening their asymptomatic essential service staff (eg delivery drivers, grocery store workers) who work together & with the public. Repeat daily tests is superior accuracy compared with no PCR or infrequent PCR testing.

Any idea as to why we are not doing this now, surely it鈥檚 not cost given what we are currently losing?@normanswan. Why are the CMO鈥檚 of Australia so late to the game? I suspect politics, but if so why are they not whistle blowing.

Really sensible. Can鈥檛 understand why it鈥檚 not being done, especially for those of us working in health.

Prof McLaws, where can employers get access to rapid test kits and are they expensive? Thanks for all your public commentary, I find it incredibly helpful.

Hi Mary Bit of a conspiracy theory here but has anyone questioned why a trial would be done for RAT in an aged care facility in NSW with a US based rapid Antigen Test whose accuracy is significantly lower than the 2 tests produced in Australia (Ellume and AnteoTech) ?

2) If this trial will determine if the government endorses rapid tests to be used on a larger scale moving forward , wouldn't it make sense to use local devices that are in the Top 5 in the world for accuracy ?

3) Unless they want the trial to fail to justify their current PCR 24 hour strategy? CareStart has 90% sensitivity to 98% with AnteoTech

My sister in Scotland picked up three free testing kits from the local chemist and can test herself before leaving the house - results on a bar strip in 30minutes !
