Gov plan must include rapid flexible response to COVID not 'live with it'. More detail required eg vaccination %. Need better transparency (modelling, remove 'cabinet in confidence'), apolitical communication, purpose-built quarantine, home quarantine protocol inc. home test kit.

Bad news for UK 🇬🇧 and the rest of the world… hospitalizations in England due to #DeltaVariant are now accelerating upward even faster than before, according to new data compiled by @COVID19actuary. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 is ~half fully #vaccinated—UK planning to start 3rd dose in Sept for age 50+.

It’s not hard. US, with western world’s worst health system did it. Actually finish vaccinating prioritised groups before moving on to next, and clearly articulate who is responsible for what, when. Don’t need army for that. Any sensible health official plus do it on their ear.

Secrecy is just a way to avoid accountability. We need to be able to review the model, it’s objectives, it’s assumptions and it’s mechanisms. We don’t even know what question it is trying to answer. I look at what Israel has achieved and question why we would settle for less.

This makes too much sense. I'd add tracking bracelets to home quarantine, BTW (and yes, it's important to specify this now because based on track record, it'll take our govt at least 6-8 months to procure them).
