Purpose-built quarantine costs a fraction of economic cost of lockdowns from hotel quarantine breaches. Lockdown costs $1Billion/week for NSW or Vic. Cost 3000 bed quarantine facility range $500-700Million. 4 week Vic lockdown=17-24K beds in purpose-built quarantine facilities

Wow you’d think the economists would have worked this one out but kudos to you Professor you’ve done the sums to give us another great reason for purpose built quarantine facilities! 👏👏👏👏👏

Govt maths uses cost of Christmas Island / 4 * number of quarantine beds required. That's more than the US economy...

I’m glad you are saying these things, but even if a purpose built quarantine is built (that is, ONE), the various quarantine hotels will still be used, and the problem of ‘virus escape’ will still be there.

Loved seeing your cat’s ears poking up at the bottom of the screen this morning. I hope she gets a gig sometime soon 🐱

The cost benefit analysis of quarantine summarised in a tweet. LNP could have written that down on the back of an envelope even.

Indeed a no brainer especially as Aust will most likely be dealing with more & more Covid positive cases among returning citizens. #QuarantineFacilities #Quarantinefail #auspol

Too difficult for them to work out. Who are their advisers?
#MorrisonOutbreak and Fraudenberg love the States running Hotel Quarantine because they are not contributing a cent, they’re happy to see the States fork out billions so they can save $500m.
