Purpose-built quarantine costs a fraction of economic cost of lockdowns from hotel quarantine breaches. Lockdown costs $1Billion/week for NSW or Vic. Cost 3000 bed quarantine facility range $500-700Million. 4 week Vic lockdown=17-24K beds in purpose-built quarantine facilities

How about Vic start by getting their contact tracing in order? NSW manage fine (and take on a lot more responsibility where quarantining overseas arrivals is concerned)

No. No where in the world are building these types of facilities because it's over. People can quarantine at home. Vaccinate the most at risk and those who want it and move on. Open up and move on.

I agree, but only because the Andrews government has proved yet again, that it can't be trusted with this responsibility.

When the rest of the world are opening up their international borders and when my friends in Europe were sending me their holidays photos of Spain and Portugal etc you’re still talking about spending $700 millions taxpayers’ money for quarantine facilities??! Give me a break.

We rightly expect our federal govt to meet its responsibilities to defend Aust from threats. Untold billions are spent on military defence (even when used for questionable offence) to meet perceived threats less likely than pandemics. 1 submarine = how many quarantine centres?

Stop ALP political rant, it’s not the quarantine it’s the follow up how confirmed cases are treated by DHSS. Why does a customer not vic health have to tell a business they are a tier 1 site?
