Purpose-built quarantine costs a fraction of economic cost of lockdowns from hotel quarantine breaches. Lockdown costs $1Billion/week for NSW or Vic. Cost 3000 bed quarantine facility range $500-700Million. 4 week Vic lockdown=17-24K beds in purpose-built quarantine facilities

It wold be sensible to have a ready quaratine facility in every state like they did for 60 years until they 1980s era of Reaganomics. Lockdowns impacted 13.6 million Australians in last year

Plenty of government owned land (defence communications station) next to Howard Springs that the Federal Government could quickly add thousands of cabins (10,000?) Why not challenge @ScottMorrisonMP with this @AlboMP Like there $300 for vaccines is a good idea...

But of course! However without the Political will or competent leadership we will keep burning money in a furnace in a needless way.

You make so much sense Mary-Louise but our politics are determined by lobbyists who have gotten away with it for decades now. Traditionally a tyranny like the quiet Neo-Liberal zombie land we have in Oz, lasts as long as its tolerated.....

Why are we following an elimination strategy? Why not home quarantine?

Seems like sensible risk mitigation planning
Why donโ€™t the state governments just take it upon themselves to build it then? Even if it isnโ€™t their responsibility, surely it would be more beneficial to the economy than a lockdown?

If itโ€™s ok to pay hundreds of millions detaining refugees what the @ScottMorrisonMP issue with quarantine facilities?
