Quarantine is not 99.9% effective. 21,000 cases (70% of total cases) since border closure on 20 March '20 are directly & indirectly due to quarantine breaches & exemptions. Purpose-built quarantine facilities with rapid antigen testing on arrival & day-14 are required.

Have there been any leaks from the NSWHealth quarantine hotels? I鈥檓 pretty sure there hasn鈥檛 been a single case. The Police Hotels are leaky but so far, amazingly, the NSWHealth hotels have held tight. Correct me if I鈥檓 wrong.

Mary. Purpose built does not eliminate the risk, it moves blame. And adds $$$, logistics. Further, as our vaccination rates rise (we are getting towards significant protection of our elderly) - quarantine may even become redundant (and we should hope). Who will it protect?

So if 21,000 was 0.01% of hotel quarantine cases that would mean we would have had to have 2,100,000 go through HQ. Which sounds very unlikely.

Should each State and Territory have a quarantine station built by State Government subsidised by Federal Government? We can build temporary buildings forOlympians, surely quarantine buildings could be constructed the same with appropriate air conditioning.

What for Mary? For how long? The rest of the world is getting vaccinated & reopening. U are 15m too late. The rest of the world is getting back to normal & reopening. When quarantine facilities would be ready, most likely there will be no use for them.
