Increases in variants of concern & resurgence in case numbers in countries that previously controlled their pandemics are a warning. We must not open our borders until majority, especially our 20-39 year olds (majority of cases & transmitters) are vaccinated.

Well, bad news, we’re only going to get to around 60% vax at best. And much less on the cohort you’re talking about.

And we have purpose built quarantine facilities funded by federal government.

Agree. ALSO — data from Canada show —(last I saw) - children are also an important cohort related to #COVID transmission
I don't think I've heard the govt or any other key figures in the Health Dept mention what you've just highlighted - why 20-39 year olds getting vaccinated really matters. This an example of where messaging on vaccination could be more targeted.

I hear what your saying but why is it fine to bring in RT and others importing covid? It’s quite contradictory font you think? The risk of escaping HQ is still there. But your supporting keeping aussies prisoner in their own country? To what end? No economic growth impacts the masses

Would you be opposed to allowing fully vaccinated foreigners to come to .AU as tourists? (I know there are ethical issues because not everyone can be vaccinated, but from a control of transmission POVl would that be acceptable?

How big a majority are you suggesting, Prof McLaws? Like 60-65%, or 75-80?
