Herd immunity is not the goal of current vaccines because 1) all levels infections not preventable 2) would need high efficacy for all level of infection & high pop coverage. Please get any vaccine to give better chance of protection from symptoms, possibly severe COVID & death.

I disagree. Condemning me to 40% chance of getting Covid is a poor option.Getting even moderate or mild Covid can lead to complications- you have said as much yourself. Also I may not be able to get an mRNA vaccine in the future if I commit to AZ.

Higher efficacy is better for sure! But if thete’s no other option I’m suggesting any vaccine is better than none.

I feel torn by being careful not to criticise because vaccination is so important but also feeling disappointed that the Federal government failed to adequately stay on top of this and source the best possible vaccine for the community. There has to be some accountability here.

Thank you. It’s really sad that we are given only a very poor option.Surely with such a small population we can get enough for 20 million more people.Every other country can get a decent vaccine and we are relegated to outbreaks and disease forever. We should boycott this rubbish.

Like Jayant Patel would be better than no surgeon? Why should we accept less than the bedt? If there were no other options, fair enough. But there are, and they're better, so why accept AZ because the govt either bungled the procurement process, or have a vested interest in AZ?
