Mandatory masks will help to prevent the spread of COVID 馃憣. Government, shopping malls and venues should hand out free masks to augment the current physical distancing and hand hygiene stations. Assisting everyone's cooperation is more effective than fines.

Mandatory is the same as effective mask use. It鈥檚 the latter that鈥檚 required. Someone who can鈥檛 wear a mask or has to constantly touch the mask is actually being put at a higher risk by enforcement. This saying is doing attitude has to stop. Behaviours are key to compliance

Touching the mask is a risk in healthcare settings, while no evidence in the community setting. Behaviour is the key yes but to make mask use the new 'norm' when case numbers rise making it mandatory is the first step, along with giving them out freely.

Nobody appointed you or other PHOs to make anything mandatory.

Thats not even logical. When we say the mask can reduce spread it can only do so by being a containment barrier. Its can't work any other way. That's science. When know the virus is spread by touching. The virus is on the mask. It's thats simple.

What we are really saying here is that so far in the community there isn't enough viral load to actually justify the mask. If there were the correct hierarchy of controls kick in. I wear masks professionally. Have done for 30 plus years were required.

I can tell you for a fact the virus doesn't know which settings it in. It doesn't behave differently. It just needs to be present in sufficient load or we assume what's good in health care is good everywhere. It's not really rocket science

Any suggestion that the virus can't be on the surface of the mask and therefore correct focus on xovid protocols aren't required to be educated is irresponsible.
