Mandatory mask use protects everyone & is essential during outbreaks. Why can't we "safely speed" on roads? If we get it wrong we kill ourselves as well as others. Why can't we 'decide' when we wear a mask ? Because if we get it wrong we infect ourselves but also others.

You mean well but you neglect to mention the negative impact from enforcement. Did you see the video of a police officer handcuffing a pregnant woman in her home in front of her kids? So far, we are controlling COVID in NSW without forcing mask wearing on the public. To freedom.

Huge scoop by @rolfey - NSW CHO has been trying to impose tougher health measure and being overrules by Lib-Nat politicians. In the words of right wing commentators around the country - release the health advice. #nswcovid #nswpol

NSW residents should take the initiative and wear a mask. Been enough evidence of the spread of the virus to make any dubious person accept the evidence. Politicians make the policy but individuals make it happen.
Just do it people there really shouldn鈥檛 be a debate around it. It鈥檚 really not that bad. It clearly helped in Melbourne in 2020.

Wise words from a real expert. Take heed @GladysB @NSWCHO @NSWHealth. Many in Sydney agree and we can do this, we're prepared to do more testing and we're ready to do what is necessary. If you make it necessary people will wear it, but not if you just suggest, urge and recommend.

If we get it wrong we infect ourselves but also others? Not necessarily. In the land of Daniel Andrews where it was mandatory to wear a mask to step outside your front door and go for a walk along empty streets, I think individuals could decide for themselves the futile stupidity
