Vaccinating 80% of Australia in 8 months means 170,000 injections per day every day; 4 times the average daily number Covid tests (Apr-Dec). Our health system will struggle to vaccinate while fighting outbreaks unless quarantine flaws are strengthened before March.

The sensible thing to do would be to make the Immunisation course free for registered nurses. Get the workforce ready to go for March and set up vaccination clinics. It currently costs around $1000 to complete 🙄

Hey MLM, thank you for your wise & helpful comments on this wild virus. A pity so many leaders have so little respect for science & public health that they won’t listen, but I commend your calm persistence. May the new year be an improvement. 🤞🥂😷

Not looking good for Sydney. Norman Swan was just on, & he was quoting peer reviewed COVID 19 underlying figures of 5 to 1, for undetected cases. His assessment is that there are likely 450 to 500 cases in Sydney. He is recommending total lock down of Greater Sydney,

Maybe pharmacists and nurse practitioners as well as GPs will be able to administer vaccine. And are those doing the Covid19 testing able to also do vaccinations?

Why would you compare vaccinations to Covid tests ??? A more appropriate comparison is flu vaccination. We got over 70% of the population vaccinated in 6 weeks in 2020. And the AstraCSL vaccine seem similar to administer to the flu vaccine but requires two doses to achieve 90%

Im an AIDS era trained RN & I'm struggling to understand why medicos & scientists haven't been vocal about moving quarantine outside CBDs & staffing them with medically qualified staff to better manage infection control & minimise risk of spread within densely populated areas.🤷‍♀️

I don’t understand why we are waiting until March to vaccinate given the time constraints and also with the wait and see attitude in terms of vaccinations what is the alternative to vaccinating anyway the federal government has already made decision with vaccine

It's different parts of the health system. And as the progress of the program goes on, the testing requirements will be reduced. Also hospital resources won't be required. It can be done. Constant negativity from scared folk will guarantee it won't get done.
