Let me get this straight .. airline crew / pilots / stewards are exempt from quarantine. Let the absurdity of that sink in. The only people who are literally flying around the world’s hot spots are not required to quarantine. Hey but if you live on the northern beaches of NSW ..

We wrote on 7 December, before this outbreak, to State and Federal ministry about holes in the handling of international travellers and glight crew & how to ameliorate them. It is not the community’s fault.

It is the state and mostly the fed govt's fault , they really have no clue about what their responsibilities are .

Good job. I wonder what hapoened to your letter. Did you get a response that was more than an acknowledgement?

Thankyou for this important policy intervention to Prof McLaws & colleagues. It's not easy being a public intellectual putting a flea in the ear of officialdom in Australia. Adopting rapid testing is a great idea & AHPPC should consider it urgently (e.g. flight crews). #auspol

Did they respond or has it been filed? I’m no epidemiologist, but this bit isn’t rocket science is it? I understand the contents of your letter perfectly. If State and Federal authorities did not then shame on them.

Exempt people home quarantine would likely live with someone a husband, wife, children or flat mates. One thing for the crew member to isolate but what about those they live with & leave in the community when they fly out. How was this overlooked? #Covid19nsw

And a Brisbane company Ellume has been making a rapid COVID test that is 96% accurate with a read out within 30 minutes! Would be perfect. They are selling them to USA because of lack of interest here .

Sydney’s latest Covid-19 outbreak has happened because the system is broken. People won’t quarantine or wear masks unless they are made to. Are ya listen’n to me.
