My colleagues & I wrote an open letter last week calling for rapid testing. The virus doesn’t understand exemption rules. Everyone without exception must have a rapid antigen test for covid on arrival - everyone, no exemptions. thenewdaily.com.au/news/2020…

Thank you & your colleagues for your expert advice during the pandemic. You provide such clear, consistent & logical advice and our Governments should take notice & implement all of these important recommendations.

Mary Louise why aren’t people having to show negative covid tests before boarding flight? Returning to Thailand for work, all had to have valid test, registered name &passport less that 72 hours before flight, not fool proof but MUCH reduced risk, ZERO C-19 in hotel QR or on flt

Could be performed. Accuracy differs marginally across test kits approved for Aust use. Because you are looking for certainty that passengers & crew are not infected the test needs to have high negative test accuracy and most rapid tests have 98.8%-100% accuracy.

If your open letter was to the federal govt. then we know what that means. Sorry you have wasted your time but thank-you for trying. We don’t do national co-ordination with regard to COVID and quarantine issues in Australia.🤔

I don’t understand why we have exemptions at all. What constitutes an exemption?

Airports are the responsibility of Morrison's federal government

Exactly the virus doesn’t care about exemptions. No one should be exempted
