Graphs illustrating weekly tracking of Testing vs Pos results. Safety zone is when testing is high and positives low. Vic 😀, NSW improved 👌. QLD needs improving, SA 😟 ramp up testing. There's never a time to drop rate of testing, ever.

These are deceptive graphs with different scales and test not corrected for population. Nevertheless - agree with the message

I’m encouraged that here in Vic our testing levels have remained relatively high. Perhaps hay fever season is contributing to that as sniffles make people a bit twitchy.

How about levels of mask usage?
Prof Raina McIntyre referenced the need for 2k tests of symptomatic ppl per million population per week to detect community spread, which all states seem to be exceeding. Do you think this is underestimate of the testing numbers required? thelancet.com/journals/lanin…

Very useful. Thank you.

🙏 for emphasising that we’ve all got a role to play and we all need to stay vigilant. I’m concerned there’s a growing sense of being safe behind “strong borders” even though the experience shows the 🦠 gets through borders.

Horrible graphs and interpretation of the data by a supposed "expert". 1) % positive rate confuses imported cases and local cases which should be treated differently 2) Each graph uses different axes, and states haven't been adjusted for population size, so very hard to compare

@normanswan @9NewsAdel i take as defeatist the sa head of police saying they are managing medi hotels. Hotel Staff should also be in lockdown. Army bootcamp have no leave for 3 months. Ship crews get paid one day leave for every day they work. ADF could tolerate the isolation.

sad to see that since circuses have closed down due to coronavirus, clowns have had to get work creating graphs
