It’s not the politicians in Australia, it’s the public health orthodoxy recommending against masks. See current Australian Health Protection Committee for example.

Do you wear one?

No. Purchased them some time ago but still sitting by the front door unused. Happy to accept current advice is they are not yet necessary in wider Melbourne. Am not happy that expert guidance for a long time was they do not work. But happy to agree that advice will/can change.
