Hi @MarylouiseMcla1, I was a little confused by your statement on @BreakfastNews this morning - what are these numbers an average of? Or is it a rolling 14-day total of new cases? Couldn't find context in the transcript, hoping you can clarify for me.

We use 14 consecutive days because it’s useful - just over double the average Covid19 incubation period to see good/bad changes. In Melbourne, the rolling 14 day case average is nearly 5 times larger (386) than the previous 14 day average (June 2-15) of 79.

I was concerned the growth from 79 to 386 being reported as an 80% increase??? Am I missing something???

Yeah, there's a bit of specific knowledge needed to make sense of the maths I think
So the 14-day average is just the total new cases in that 14 day period? I think I'm confused by the word average, thinking it was average cases/day over the 14 days or something

And also thankyou for the response!
