You can achieve between 10-70% depending on quality. The WHO recommends cloth mask with 3 layers and this should provide protection towards the higher end of this range.

Three layers to the mask- water repellent material on outside; middle layer- polyester; and the side facing your mouth-breathable close weave cotton (e.g. Quilters cotton).
