Coronavirus cases in Aged Care should be immediately hospitalised. Better to immediately relocate those infected to hospital wards dedicated to Covid-19 cases. #agedcare #Australia #auspol #ausbiz

It happened in NSW, so I am not surprised. Just look at the Ruby Princess disaster.

Yes. We requested our Mum would get palliative care in place if she ever caught a virus, but this is also about protecting others in the home, so exceptional circumstances. It's a nightmare either way.

Or support them with adequate infection and prevention control resources, including adequate PPE and simulated training!

There are not enough beds to do that.

Unfortunately it seems to be common practice in RACF not to transfer elderly to hospital because it’s considered a waste of resources. My Mum had a fit, GP refused to organise scan, but happy to add epilepsy meds to mix because they “helped with agitation”.

Yes this should be the number one priority for all governments.
I have a small question how do expect hospital staff to deal with a person with dementia wandering becoming increasingly aggressive or do you just sedate that person until they recover stop having a fantasy about people in care it’s not always gran knitting
