What is the appropriate trigger for more widespread use of PPE in hospitals e.g. droplet in ED/ wards or airborne for all AGP? One local case with unlinked epi (too soon?).. sustained transmission (too late?) @MarylouiseMcla1 @mdjkf @peripatetical @CollignonPeter @PLR_aus ??

Our one local case in an ED physician last week was a false positive test. However that was enough to spook them. At the current pandemic stage, use PPE for direct patient care of suspected/proven cases only. Epi data analysis needs to drive necessary changes.

Understand widespread PPE used in a wholly-designated COVID19 hospital as was the case during SARS 2003. But no masks used in wards outside flu ward; so why PPE in a nondesignated hospital unless you work on the COVID19 ward? However I understand their anxiety.
