Understand widespread PPE used in a wholly-designated COVID19 hospital as was the case during SARS 2003. But no masks used in wards outside flu ward; so why PPE in a nondesignated hospital unless you work on the COVID19 ward? However I understand their anxiety.

It has to be used with knowledge of how to use it.
Wearing a face mask does help if you do it properly. Seto Wing Hong of Hong Kong University demonstrates the correct way to wear a face mask #coronavirus

Hoping it’s negative! Get well soon.
The most successful pandemic controls are built around past successes with similar diseases. @WHO recommends widespread testing, quarantine of cases, rigorous contact tracing, and effective social distancing. More- tinyurl.com/yxyxm6jd#COVID19… #coronavirusaustralia

How is “modelling” most usefully applied during a pandemic? It’s probably best used to consider “worst case scenarios” and then plan for numbers of ICU beds, Protective equipment needed (PPEs), burials etc. tinyurl.com/yxyxm6jd #auspol #coronavirusaustralia #COVID19Aus

Keep it simple- if people aren’t in your family bubble, keep 2 metres apart. Shops need to create lines and coach people to comply. #ausbiz #auspol #coronavirusau #COVID19Aus

We are yet to see the population get on board with keeping apart, so the options for avoiding a lockdown are becoming more limited.

Outbreak interventions are based on past success & experience with similar diseases. SARS, MERS,Ebola used hard work to reduce # not staring at models. Models have limitations due to assumptions but provide important estimates of #PPE, etc. New actions announced long time coming

Controlling COVID19 requires compliance with social distancing/isolation. Every individual can make a difference. However, people need timely data-driven info to understand rationale for directives e.g. numbers (not just bar charts), # cases by risk factor, GIS hotspot mapping
