Estimating Ukraine war casualties, based on citizen stats from the Khmelnitsky region:
▪️ 11,000 fresh graves in the cemeteries of the region, belonging to soldiers of the AFU
▪️ estimated population of region is 1,300,000
▪️ dividing 1,300,000 by 11,000 yields a ratio of 1-in-118
▪️ 2021 population of Ukraine was 41,000,000
▪️ dividing 41,000,000 by 118 yields ~347,000
This of course assumes the Khmelnitsky region is a representative sample of Ukraine, but the 347,000 figure is in the ballpark of what other sources have claimed.
