If that were true, why do they reject the DPP, current legimitately elected government? Under a truly free-from-CCP-influence 2-Systems system, they would accept whoever the Taiwanese elect.

Taiwan was never a part of the CCP so "reunification" is a misleading term suggesting they were ever unified in the first place. In fact they are the people that got away from the Communist so they could be free.
