A friend of mine, who works for a local company here, has been contributing to a recently-launched project that truly needs foreign talents who has the knowledge about #Taiwan and the expertise that is in great shortage here.

It's been a fruitless, year long battle - it doesn't look like I'll be able to get the gold visa that would allow me to dedicate myself to making art about Taiwan, in Taiwan. It really IS a testement to how great Taiwan is that I still want to live here after this experience...!

I also think @alicetams is deeply deserving of a gold card for her contributions to taiwan including murals - but somehow being an accomplished artist and a woman didn’t entice the ministry of culture to help out. Meanwhile the gold card program is looking like a boys club …
