Today marks 82 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor. Ohio native James Ward gave his life for our country that day. His heroics won him the Medal of Honor. Now, his remains will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. God bless him and all of the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice that day. spectrumnews1.com/oh/columbuโ€ฆ

This morning I introduced a resolution directing @GOPoversight, @WaysandMeansGOP, and @JudiciaryGOP to continue their impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden. Itโ€™s time to take the next step and put the House in the best position to uncover the truth.

The FBI shouldnโ€™t be able to spy on you without a warrant. Howโ€™s that controversial?

โœ… @Jim_Jordan, @RepJerryNadler, @RepAndyBiggsAZ, andย @RepMcClintock applaud the passage of H.R. 6570, the Protect Liberty and End Warrantless Surveillance Act, out of the House Judiciary Committee by a vote of 35 to 2. The bipartisan bill reauthorizes Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) for three years with significant reforms, requires all intelligence agencies and the FBI to obtain a warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) before conducting any query of a U.S. person, brings much-needed reforms to the FISC, increases transparency, and ensures that those who violate the civil liberties of Americans will be held accountable for their actions. The bill now heads to the House Floor for consideration. โ€œTodayโ€™s passage of H.R. 6570 is a meaningful step in making reforms to FISA that are long overdue.ย The bill enacts significant protections for Americans and ensures that they are not subjected to unchecked surveillance by the federal government,โ€ ๐ฌ๐š๐ข๐ ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ข๐ซ๐ฆ๐š๐ง ๐‰๐จ๐ซ๐๐š๐ง. โ€œI am proud to have joined with Chairman Jordan and Mr. Biggs on this important, comprehensive, and necessary legislation.ย  The overwhelming bipartisan vote in markup today says it all.ย  This is a bill that the House can rally aroundโ€”and with 702 set to sunset just weeks from now, I urge Speaker Johnson to bring our consensus legislation to the floor without delay,โ€ ๐ฌ๐š๐ข๐ ๐‘๐š๐ง๐ค๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Œ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐๐š๐๐ฅ๐ž๐ซ. โ€œI am grateful to my colleagues for advancing one of the most consequential pieces of legislation ever related to ending government surveillance abuse,โ€ ๐ฌ๐š๐ข๐ ๐’๐ฎ๐›๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ž๐ž ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ข๐ซ๐ฆ๐š๐ง ๐๐ข๐ ๐ ๐ฌ. โ€œThe overwhelming, bipartisan vote in favor of this legislation confirms a mutual interest in protecting our Fourth Amendment privacy rights from rogue intelligence actors. Our FISA 702 spying authorities must be used for national security purposesโ€”not nefarious ones. I urge Speaker Johnson to immediately bring this legislation to the House Floor for a vote and call on my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to support this package. Any effort to stall consideration or pass a clean extension of the current FISA authorities is a punishment of the American people.โ€ โ€œWe created our government to protect us from those who would do us harm, but the Founders recognized that we also had to protect ourselves against abuses by that government.ย  This is why we have the Fourth Amendment, which this bill restores for a digital age,โ€ ๐ฌ๐š๐ข๐ ๐’๐ฎ๐›๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ž๐ž ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ข๐ซ๐ฆ๐š๐ง ๐Œ๐œ๐‚๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐œ๐ค.

The FBI: -Drafted a memo targeting traditional Catholics. -Wanted to build sources in churches. -Coordinated the memo with multiple field offices. -And even interviewed a priest and choir director. Insanity.
Why is the FBI targeting Catholics?

The coordination between Fulton County, GA District Attorney Fani Willis, and Pelosiโ€™s January 6 Select Committee, should be concerning to everyone. This new information raises questions about Willisโ€™ and Thompsonโ€™s commitment to due process, and whether House Rules were violated when the Select Committee failed to properly disclose this material. We have serious concerns about this behavior and we are seeking the truth.
