This is absolutely disgraceful… According to a new investigation by The New York Times, a pardon that Trump signed on his last day in office destroyed the Department of Justice’s probe into predatory loans. The pardon was issued to Staten Island resident Jonathan Braun who was serving ten years in prison for running a sprawling illegal marijuana sales network. He was able to snake out a pardon because of his connection to Jared Kushner’s crooked father. At the time, Braun was ALSO part of the federal investigation into predatory lending that hurts average Americans. He was considering a cooperation deal with authorities that would have earned him an early release in return for info on the predators in question. Once Trump pardoned him, Braun no longer needed the deal and the investigation went up in smoke. Because of Trump’s corrupt crony practices, innocent Americans were hurt as usual.
